Things Are Happening...

So, it's been 6 months now since NorthBound Productions officially set up shop, and what have we done since then? Well, outwardly, not lots.

But, inwardly, there's a whole story brewing. The beginning of this story was much like a heist movie, which obviously has to begin with getting a solid team together. We began with our wonderful core three, each with their own specific set of skills. From there, we expanded, sourcing a plethora of musicians, writers, producers, actors and more who would be interested in being part of our NorthBound family, and with that we had the foundations of our story set.

From there, we just needed a catalyst - something to set our story off on its path with momentum and purpose - and this came along in the form of our very first WORKSHOP run by Anita Pandolfo. The BAFTA-award-winning writer agreed to come down to the King's Arms for our very first event and provide a detailed breakdown of her career, along with personalised advice to anyone who bought a ticket. And did she provide? More than we could have hoped. She was warm, kind and precise in her advice to each person who came along to our workshop. Her focus was on collaboration, and the importance of hearing your work out loud.

This workshop then set us off. Since then, we have announced our first COLLABORATIVE READTHROUGH, an event where writers can submit up to 15 pages of their script and have it read out and workshopped by fellow peers (https://fatso.ma/XIaE). We have also been working on an EXCITING ORIGINAL PLAY. We are inches away from announcing performance dates and going into full swing with rehearsals. This paired with another workshop in preparation has made for quite a full and exciting period in the upcoming months. Yet, while all this is very exciting, my favourite part of this whole beginning is that it is simply that: the beginning. We are only just out of our first act, and we still have many twists, turns and new characters to introduce to you all. This is the beginning of a long and winding story with collaboration at its core, and we really can't wait for you to be a part of it.
