GMDF One Act Play Festival 2024

After a successful run of shows at The Theatre Royal in Ramsbottom, on the 17th of June, our brilliant cast of An Area Of Outstanding Natural Beauty took to the stage once again to perform Elliot Scott’s play at the GMDF One Act Play Festival.

The cast did a brilliant job of performing the show for a final time at the Guide Bridge Theatre, Audenshaw, and got some wonderful feedback from the adjudicator, Martin Roache.

A few days after the performance, we attended the awards ceremony, where we were delighted to receive The Adjudicators Award for the cast of An Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. When he was presenting the award, Martin Roache, said: “Across all the sections, I get one opportunity to give one award - the adjudicator’s award - and it’s for anything I want really, and this has given me the opportunity to acknowledge a whole cast in a piece of new writing which I was really engaged and impressed by. Everything about what they did I found fascinating. The piece was a challenge, and they rose to the challenge and more besides. I didn’t have the chance to award them individually, but it’s only fair that they get an award collectively for what they did.”

This play and the people involved have inspired us so much. We’ve seen what the dedication and hard work of young creatives can achieve. We’d like to say a few thank you to those who’ve been involved in this project; Thank you to our cast and a huge well done for their award, thank you to Elliot Scott for letting us bring your script to life for the second time, and thank you to Summerseat Players for collaborating with us on this brilliant project!
